SCHOOL HISTORY

The school was started in 1960 by Friends African Missionaries. The late Mzee Ogada had settled there from Western Kenya.  Ogada approached Achola a local resident to donate land for the initiation of the school. By then students from this region had to walk long distances going to school. They would spend a day or more traveling and they would stay without meals especially if there were no relatives around the school vicinity.

This convinced the two old men to start the school. Their diverse ethnical backgrounds made a rich combination for the school’s development. The school was named after Mr. Achola and because of its location on top of a Hill also called after the famous Mzee Achola the school was thus called GotKachola Primary School.

The general performance of the school in national examinations has not been impressive except in the last two years that it sent its first female student to a national secondary school. The school administration and other concerned stakeholders are concerned with this unfavorable situation and are out to correct this gender imbalance.

Got Kachola Primary School has a population of 662 pupils of whom 313349 are girls. The enrolment ratio of girls to boys has improved over time and dropout rate reduced considerably. Pupils’ turnover is stable with the subsequent introduction of Free Primary Education there is a general overwhelming increase in population in all classes. are boys and

The teaching staffs are 9 in number with a shortfall of 8 teachers for any effective and efficient teaching. There are only 2 support staff members to deal with other non-teaching chores in the school.
